The API returns standard JSON, so any language that can send a web request works, and there is no client library to install. The documentation shows its examples in C#, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, Rust, TypeScript, and curl. Authentication is your API key, sent as the api_key query parameter on each request.
Each API key is limited to 10 concurrent requests in flight at any one time. Going over this limit returns a 429 response. The API typically responds in under 200ms, though response times vary under heavy load. See our terms of service for details.
You can integrate property data into your services, but reselling or white-labeling direct API access is not permitted.
Every money value is in the currency of the country the property is in: Canadian dollars for a Canadian property and United States dollars for an American one. Houski applies no exchange rate, and the numbers carry no currency marker, so read the country_abbreviation field to know which currency you have. The income bands in the demographic fields work the same way, so a band such as 100,000 to 149,999 counts Canadian dollars in Canada and United States dollars in the United States, which means the same band covers a different real income level in each country. Before you compare, total, or average across both countries, convert one side using an exchange rate of your choosing. One piece of maths Houski does do is move the census income figures to today's dollars, scaling from the dollars of the census year with each country's own consumer price index. Billing is separate from all of this and is always in United States dollars.

Where useful, yes. Listing and permit data have history. The prediction endpoint can return estimated list prices, sale prices, and rents for any date from January 2021 to today.
No, but adding the price_quote query parameter to a request returns the cost of the current page of results without billing you or returning the data.
We don't offer uptime guarantees, service credits, or refunds for downtime. We work to keep the API highly available, but cannot commit to any specific uptime number. See our terms of service.
